Tweed Physiotherapy - Our Story
Getting Better Together
Tweed Physiotherapy was established to improve the access to a wide range of high quality Physiotherapy Services to the residents of Peebles and surrounding areas. We believe in offering each patient tailored treatments to their own individual needs and circumstances.
The NHS is a fantastic service however it is often faced with capacity constraints and surplus demands. Our founder Colette Wood continues to work as an Advanced Practice Physiotherapist within the NHS and recognises the challenges that come with long waiting lists and limited time and appointments available to each patient due to the constraints of a publicly administered service. Many patients are often pushed to "self manage" their condition when there is so much more than can be done to help them on their journey to recovery.
Tweed Physiotherapy aims to bridge this gap and we are in a fortunate position to be able to give each individual that passes through our doors the time they deserve. Our clinical knowledge and expertise will allow you to fully understand your condition and we go above and beyond minimum treatment guidelines with our hands on approach to ensure each patient regains their maximum function, independence and quality of life as soon as possible. Contact us to find out more about our services and how we can help you today.

About Our Founder
Colette Wood
BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy, PgDip Vet Physio, MCSP, HCPC, ACPAT Cat A
Colette Wood qualified in 2006 with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy from Glasgow Caledonian University. She has worked in the NHS and Private Sector for the last 15 years as a Musculoskeletal Specialist Physiotherapist, gaining post-graduate qualifications in Western Acupuncture, dry needling techniques and Pilates. Colette uses these skills to complement her clinical practice, delivering high quality, expert Physiotherapy interventions on a daily basis.
In 2011 she returned to the University of the West of England to undertake a further 2 years study at Masters level in Veterinary Physiotherapy. She provides specialist interventions and biomechanical assessments to horses and riders within the local region and currently works as an Advanced Practice First Contact Physiotherapist within Peebles and West Linton Health Centres. This allows for close liaisons with local GPs/Consultants and ensures patients can be referred for diagnostic tests and/or referred on to the appropriate clinical specialist if required.
Colette brings to the clinic a wealth of knowledge, qualifications and clinical experience and she is skilled in providing expert clinical diagnosis and management for a wide variety of conditions (see our speciality services section for further details).
She is passionate about facilitating her patients to achieve a full recovery post injury or surgery and thrives on helping people with chronic health conditions to manage their pain, enhancing their quality of life.
With a vision to provide rapid access to the highest quality healthcare at affordable prices, Colette is passionate about providing a personal approach to her Physiotherapy practice. This places Tweed Physiotherapy at the forefront of the field, providing innovative, progressive and high quality healthcare within a welcoming and friendly environment.
